This is one of my favorites to grill.The five spices are a blend that you can get in the supermarket.Give a guess on what it consists or the easier way just check below.
Ingredients:
3 lbs chicken de-boned and skinless
2 teaspoons five spice powder(see note below for any more doubts)
1 teaspoon garlic powder or two garlic cloves, pressed
1 tablespoon dry sherry
1/3 cup soy sauce
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1/4 cup oil, such as light olive oil or peanut oil.Preferred is olive oil.
Directions:
Five spice powder: It is a very complex and delicious blend of cloves, fennel and cinnamon along with Szechuan peppercorns and star anise. Some companies also add spices like black pepper in it.This is very good for meat marinate and also go well for vegetables.
Grab a bowl and put in all the ingredients except for the chicken and make a marinade.
When you are done with it, take the chicken pieces and marinate them at least for an hour. You can also marinate it overnight. I prefer to do it for longer time so as to give it enough time for marinating well.
Now preheat the grill at high temperature and put chicken pieces on the grill for about 45 minutes till its done. In between turn the pieces 3-4 times so that it gets evenly grilled on both sides.
